Local Bigwig provides an easy, free, and secure way to search and book vetted furnished monthly home rentals. We have aggregated the corporate housing and extended-stay providers on one platform, so you only have to go to one website to see all of your options wherever you may need temporary accommodations.

We list only furnished, unshared apartments/homes. Home rental providers pay our fees so we don't charge anything to guests.

Sign up and search home rentals

Create your free Local Bigwig account to begin a search based on your criteria. You can sort and filter the results, as necessary. If you want to revisit a home listing later, you can save it to My Shortlist.

Contact a host

Click on Contact Host to ask any questions you may have. This is your opportunity to confirm details including availabilities and amenities.

Book it and make payment

Send a booking request and your credit card/PayPal payment online. Once a host accepts the request, your booking is confirmed.

Payment Process

Guest and Host contact each other and confirm details of the home rental.

By clicking on the Book It button, guest can easily and securely send a booking request and payment using a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover) or PayPal.

The host needs to accept your booking request for the booking to be made. We then forward the payment to the host.

Secure Payment System

Local Bigwig encrypts payment information through SSL protocol.

When a guest sends a booking request, we will obtain a pre-authorization on a credit card but not charge it immediately. When the host accepts the booking request and payment, Local Bigwig will then charge the credit card / PayPal for the rental amount.

If the host does not respond or declines the reservation request and payment, we release the pre-authorization on your card and no charge will be made.

In the case of cancellation, the host will return the funds to you in accordance with posted cancellation policies.

Furnished apartment hunting made easy

For guests, it is typically a time-consuming and stressful process to find and book an extended-stay home rental. We are bringing online this paper and phone-intensive business. Just like booking rentals cars, hotel rooms and flights online, booking a 3-month furnished rental (which is our average rental length) should be easy and quick.
